CRM Recruitment Agency Update
We’ve been using JobAdder with satisfactory results, but we’ve encountered some limitations, particularly regarding user permissions, which raises concerns as we grow. We’re considering a transition to RecruitCRM and would love to hear any feedback from those who have experience with it. Are there any factors we should consider before making the switch?
Navigating Candidate Closures as a Recruiter
Hey everyone,
As a Tech Recruitment Lead, I’m encountering challenges in securing offers from candidates who are considering multiple options. Often, they’ll receive an offer from us but mention they’re waiting on another company, asking for an extension—like a week—to make their decision. This raises red flags for me, especially when it involves competing offers.
I’d love to hear your successful strategies for closing candidates. How do you handle situations where candidates have other, potentially more lucrative offers? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone,
I’m exploring the possibility of a career in recruitment and would love to hear from those of you who have experience in the field. Your honest insights would be greatly appreciated!
I currently work shifts and weekends, so the idea of a traditional 9-to-5 schedule sounds appealing for better routine and work-life balance. I have a range of transferable skills that I believe would be a good fit for this role.
I’m particularly curious about a few things:
– How often do you find yourself taking work home, or do you really stick to regular office hours?
– What are the actual earning expectations in this field, beyond the numbers typically highlighted in job ads?
– Do you find the work enjoyable? Is it stressful? Also, any recommendations for recruitment companies based in the Northwest? I’m in Warrington but am willing to travel to Manchester or Liverpool.
I’m just looking for a straightforward understanding of the role without any sales pitch, if that makes sense!
Thank you!
Exploring Fixed-Term Contracts in Recruitment
I am currently seeking new opportunities following the conclusion of my last contract role. The job market has been challenging, but I’ve remained determined throughout the process. I’ve noticed an increasing trend in fixed-term contracts being offered by major employers like Meta.
Should candidates consider prioritizing these fixed-term roles over full-time employment? Particularly since these contracts typically offer higher pay, while still providing many of the benefits associated with full-time positions. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
What is the purpose of a warm call?
I usually connect with clients via email, and those who show interest will respond. After receiving a reply, I’m unsure of my next steps. Typically, I call them to discuss the position in more detail and then go over my fees. I’ve learned from online resources and conversations with others that it’s important to identify their pain points and explain how I can address those issues. However, I’ve noticed that even when clients express interest, they often don’t follow through, making it extremely challenging to get them to sign the contract.
I understand that this is a numbers game, but it baffles me why someone would agree to a phone conversation with a recruiter, say they work with agencies, express the need for assistance, and even indicate comfort with the fees, yet still decline to sign the contract when it’s sent over.
I feel like I might be missing something in this process. I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on how to improve this situation.
Have you all noticed that October and November tend to be quieter months for recruitment agencies? It seems like our industry has nearly hit a pause on new roles. I’m interested to know if other agencies are experiencing the same trend.
Are there any JobAdder users in this group? I’d love to hear about any Add-Ons you’re using and how they’ve worked for you!
We currently utilize the standard JobAdder with a few basic/free add-ons. We often receive marketing pitches about new features through Add-Ons, but many seem overpriced and not very beneficial for what we need.
We’re particularly considering the Candidate Portal and JobAdder Analytics but are hesitant about whether they will truly add value for our small team. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

What’s the biggest misconception that clients and candidates have about recruiting? If you could clarify one myth or misunderstanding regarding the role of recruiters, what would that be?
