Advice on Sales and Marketing Recruitment for a Tech Company in the US

Seeking Guidance on Sales and Marketing Recruitment for a Tech Company in the US

Hi everyone,

I’m new to posting on Reddit, although I’ve been a long-time user. I decided to create an account to seek some advice regarding recruitment for sales and marketing professionals for a small tech company.

Should I focus on candidates with experience in tech sales, marketing, or a combination of both? Are there any databases available for purchase that cater to these roles? Additionally, if you know of any specialized agencies or recruiters (preferably ones that are budget-friendly), that would be incredibly helpful!

I’ve tried using Upwork, but the quality of candidates has been quite disappointing; most just submit CVs without any proper vetting. My friend doesn’t want an hourly rate either.

He runs a small tech firm in New Jersey and is looking to build a robust sales and marketing team from the ground up, primarily focusing on hiring marketers for now, with plans to add salespeople in the future. Experience in tech or software industries is a definite plus.

Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Excited to make my first post here! 😊 By the way, if you have suggestions on where else I could share this on Reddit, I’d love to hear them. THANK YOU!

EDIT: I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone for the advice! I’ve learned a lot! Interestingly, I found an agency on LinkedIn that specializes precisely in what we need—sales and marketing professionals for the tech and software industries. We signed a contract with them three days ago, and so far, things are going really well. If anyone is interested in their contact information, feel free to DM me. I hesitate to post their details here to avoid coming across as promotional, but I’d definitely recommend them!

EDIT 2: Hey everyone! I’ve noticed a lot of you trying to reach out, but I’m having trouble opening your messages. I can see the notifications, but I can’t access the content yet. Since there seems to be a lot of curiosity about the agency I mentioned, I’ll go ahead and share their name here: it’s “Polyglot Talent.” If you decide to reach out to them, please mention my name, Sam. Thank you! 😊

From 360 to 270 recruitment

Transitioning from 360 to 270 Recruitment

Hello everyone! I have an exciting opportunity on the table to join another company in a 270 recruitment role. This position would involve managing client relationships, discussing job specifications, delivering suitable candidates, and facilitating successful placements on both sides.

The compensation structure includes a commission of up to 15% for any monthly billing over £24,000, with a commission of around 10-12% for amounts below that. The base salary offered is approximately £35,000, and the company aims to expand into the EU and US markets in the future.

Currently, I work at a large agency focused on public sector roles, while this opportunity is in the private tech sector.

I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts on whether this is a role you would pursue.

Thank you!

Recruitment Connection Request

Good evening everyone,

I’m reaching out to connect with UK-based recruiters who are thriving in their careers.

With just 11 months left until I transition out of the British Army, I am committed to pursuing a career in recruitment. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to chat with someone who is already a recruitment consultant, to gain insights into the industry and advice on how to best prepare for this path.

I’m currently taking evening courses to enhance my skills and am focused on refining my CV to increase my chances of securing a great position. I possess strong communication skills, motivation, and a solid work ethic, which I believe will serve me well in this field.

My goal is to make a strong impression during the interview process in a few months. If anyone is willing to share their expertise or offer guidance, I would be incredibly grateful to hear from you.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Best,
Matt.

Buying a recruitment firm

Acquisition Opportunity in Recruitment

I’m seeking to purchase another recruitment firm. I’ve had positive experiences in the past and would love to connect with any recruiters who are considering selling their business.

If you’re interested, please send me a message. I’m based in the US, so most transactions will likely take place here, but I’m open to exploring options internationally as well.

I’ve already been prequalified with the bank for SBA financing, and I’m eager to move forward with an acquisition, even in this challenging market.

Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss this opportunity further!

Perm rec – day plans/week plans & metrics

Seeking Advice on Weekly and Daily Planning for Perm Recruitment

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for some guidance on how to effectively plan my weeks and days to maximize my chances of closing deals, both in the short term and long term.

To give you a bit of background, I took a year off from recruitment and have nearly two years of experience in contract recruitment. Now, I’m venturing into permanent recruitment within the healthcare sector.

I’m finding it challenging to establish clear daily and weekly objectives. As someone who thrives with structure and goals, I’m hoping to get insights from those of you who have achieved success in permanent recruitment recently.

What daily and weekly targets did you set for yourself, and what do you believe were the key factors that contributed to becoming a “top biller”?

I appreciate any advice you can share!

Thank you!
