Competitive Analysis: How Do We Approach It?

I work at a small agency with a long history, and we’re currently engaged in a number of significant projects aimed at assessing our business processes and addressing a substantial backlog.

Recently, we’ve been prompted to take a closer look at our existing rates. We’ve realized that we may be underpricing our services in comparison to industry standards. Many long-term agreements we have in place involve discounted rates that no longer seem justified. As we prepare for the upcoming year, we’re considering a complete overhaul of our pricing structure.

However, while there’s chatter about our prices being on the lower end, we would appreciate more concrete evidence to support this claim. Unfortunately, contract terms are often confidential, making it difficult to gather the necessary data.

One of our managers proposed that we cold call other agencies, pretending to be potential clients, in order to gauge their pricing. While this tactic has apparently been used against us before, it doesn’t seem ethical to me. I wanted to reach out and see if this practice is considered standard within the industry?

Company taking over 2 weeks on salary negotiation. Is this normal?

I interviewed with a company and received a job offer two weeks ago. The recruiter mentioned that the hiring manager was quite impressed with my qualifications. However, I discovered that the top salary for the position was actually $11k lower than my current pay, which the recruiter hadn’t mentioned prior to the offer. I decided to negotiate to see if they could match my current salary instead. The recruiter seemed to anticipate this discussion and told me that the hiring manager would likely have some flexibility to work with me, promising to get back to me soon.

Now, two weeks have passed and I still haven’t heard anything. I followed up with the recruiter last week, and he said he expected to have an update by the end of the week, but I still haven’t received any news. I’m starting to feel frustrated with the lack of communication. Is this delay in the negotiation process normal?

I’m not sure if my position as a future intern carries any weight, and I don’t want to come off as bothersome. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

We’ve been using JobAdder and it has generally served us well. However, we’re concerned about its limitations regarding user permissions as we continue to grow. We’re considering a switch to RecruitCRM. Has anyone had experience with them? Are there any important factors we should know before making the transition?
