Need your opinion about my business idea

Seeking Your Feedback on My Business Idea

Hello everyone,

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my business concept as I’m feeling a bit uncertain.

I’m in the process of launching a recruitment agency focused exclusively on the Moroccan job market. What sets us apart is our plan to establish local offices, allowing clients to hire entire teams in one location. While my primary target is the French-speaking market, I’m also interested in tapping into the diverse talent pool that Morocco offers, as many Moroccans are trilingual.

The key benefits for my clients include cost-effective labor and access to a fresh set of skills. I’m considering reaching out to recruiters and recruitment agencies, proposing that they introduce my services to their clients when a job opening aligns with my offering, in exchange for a percentage of the revenue.

Do you think this is a viable idea? I would greatly appreciate your insights based on your professional experience.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

Contacting candidates from LinkedIn

Reaching Out to Candidates on LinkedIn

Hi everyone,

I’m new to a role where LinkedIn is our primary tool for sourcing leads and contacting potential candidates. My goal is to schedule two calls each day with the Manager.

From my experience, I’ve noticed that it can take a considerable amount of time for candidates to respond to LinkedIn messages—whether they’re InMails or connection requests. I’ve even had instances where candidates reply a month after our initial outreach.

I’d appreciate any advice, techniques, strategies, or tools (like web extensions or apps) that could help improve response times.

Thank you!

Stick or Twist

Stick or Twist?

I’ve been in my current IT role for nearly three years, starting at £48k as a one-person team. Since then, the company has grown to nearly three times its original size, and I’ve implemented a lot of essential infrastructure that I manage. My salary is now around £58k, and I recently brought on a new team member to handle some daily tasks, which I’m also responsible for line managing.

Lately, I’ve been considering asking for a promotion and a salary increase to £70k. However, I’m worried that my request might not be approved, which could make it obvious that I’m not satisfied with my current position and lead the company to prepare for my departure. The job market doesn’t look very promising right now, and I’m not keen on going down the contracting route. I’m starting to lose my motivation and passion, and I believe this change could really help reignite it.

Has anyone ever used the tactic of claiming they have another job offer to negotiate for what they want?

WFH recruitment legitimacy

Assessing the Legitimacy of a WFH Job Offer

Hey everyone,

I recently had someone from Impact Recruitment contact me about a work-from-home position. They asked if I was over 23 before proceeding. Shortly after, I was contacted via WhatsApp by someone from the company. The job involves rating movies, with a pay of CAD 674 for five days, plus commission. Notably, there was no interview process—just a direct link to a website where I could register and start training.

Curious about the legitimacy, I asked for more information, and I was given the address of the head office and confirmation that the company is listed on an official UK government website. The person also called me, assuring me that she wouldn’t work for a company that wasn’t legitimate nor recommend it to others. The minimum commitment is at least one hour per day.

However, the pay seems quite high for the amount of work involved. Does this sound like a scam to anyone? I’d appreciate your thoughts!

Advice on Sales and Marketing Recruitment for a Tech Company in the US

Seeking Advice on Sales and Marketing Recruitment for a Small Tech Company

Hello everyone,

I’m relatively new to Reddit but have been a long-time user. I recently created an account to seek your advice on recruiting sales and marketing professionals for a small tech firm.

Should I focus on candidates with experience in tech sales, marketing, or a blend of both? Additionally, does anyone know of any databases I can purchase? I’m also on the lookout for good recruitment agencies or specifically recruiters, as they tend to be more cost-effective. I’ve tried Upwork, but the quality of candidates has been underwhelming—mostly just CVs without proper vetting, and I prefer not to pay hourly.

My friend’s company is a small tech firm located in New Jersey, USA, and he aims to build a solid sales and marketing team from scratch, primarily focusing on marketers for now, with a potential increase in sales roles later. Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with experience in the tech/software industry.

Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! By the way, if you have suggestions for other subreddits where I could post this, that would be awesome! Thanks!

UPDATE: Thank you all for your helpful advice! I wanted to share that I found an agency on LinkedIn that specializes precisely in what we need—sales and marketing professionals for tech and software. We signed a contract with them three days ago, and so far, it’s going really well. If anyone’s interested, feel free to DM me, and I can provide their name and contact info. I prefer not to post it here to avoid seeming promotional, but I definitely recommend them!

UPDATE 2: I’ve seen many of you attempting to reach out, but for some reason, I can’t access your messages—still getting the hang of Reddit! Since there seems to be significant interest in the agency we decided to work with, I’ll go ahead and share their name here: it’s “Polyglot Talent.” If you reach out to them, I’d appreciate it if you could mention my name, Sam! 😊

From 360 to 270 recruitment

Transitioning from 360 to 270 Recruitment

Hey everyone! I have an exciting opportunity on the table to join a new company in a 270 recruitment role. In this position, I’ll be responsible for managing client relationships, discussing job specifications with them, presenting candidates, and closing deals on both ends.

The commission structure is appealing, offering up to 15% once I bill over £24,000 in a month, and between 10-12% for any amount below that. The base salary is set at around £35,000, with plans for the company to expand into EU and US markets in the future.

Currently, I work at a large agency focused on public sector recruitment, and this role would mark a shift to the private sector, specifically in the tech industry.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or thoughts on whether this opportunity sounds worth pursuing.

Thanks in advance!

Recruitment Connections
Good evening everyone,

I’m reaching out to connect with any recruiters based in the UK who are enjoying success in their careers.

I’ll be transitioning out of the British Army in 11 months, and I’m set on pursuing a career in recruitment. I would really appreciate the opportunity to chat with someone currently working as a recruitment consultant to gain insights about the industry and advice on how to best prepare for a role in recruitment.

In the meantime, I’m taking some evening courses and working on enhancing my CV to ensure I stand out during my job search. I already possess strong communication skills, motivation, and a solid work ethic.

I’m eager to make a positive impression during interviews in a few months. If you have any advice or would be willing to chat, I’d love to hear from you!

Thank you,
Matt.
