Subject: Questioning the Legitimacy of a WFH Job Offer

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience with a potential work-from-home job and get your thoughts on it. I was contacted by someone from Impact Recruitment about a job opportunity where I would rate movies. They asked if I was over 23 years old to proceed, and then a representative from the company reached out to me via WhatsApp.

The job offers a pay of CAD 674 for 5 days of work, plus commission, with no formal interview process. I was quickly directed to a website to register and start training. When I inquired about the legitimacy of the position, the recruiter provided the company’s head office address and mentioned that the company is listed on an official UK government website.

Additionally, she called me and assured me that she wouldn’t work with them if they weren’t legitimate, and she wouldn’t recommend it to others if it wasn’t credible. The job requires at least one hour of work per day, but the pay seems unusually high for the amount of time involved.

Does this sound like a scam to anyone? I would appreciate any insights or experiences you might have. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I’m new to posting on Reddit, although I’ve been a long-time user. I decided to create an account to seek some advice regarding recruitment for sales and marketing professionals for a small tech company.

Should I focus on candidates with experience in tech sales, marketing, or a combination of both? Are there any databases available for purchase that cater to these roles? Additionally, if you know of any specialized agencies or recruiters (preferably ones that are budget-friendly), that would be incredibly helpful!

I’ve tried using Upwork, but the quality of candidates has been quite disappointing; most just submit CVs without any proper vetting. My friend doesn’t want an hourly rate either.

He runs a small tech firm in New Jersey and is looking to build a robust sales and marketing team from the ground up, primarily focusing on hiring marketers for now, with plans to add salespeople in the future. Experience in tech or software industries is a definite plus.

Interestingly, I found an agency on LinkedIn that specializes precisely in what we need—sales and marketing professionals for the tech and software industries. We signed a contract with them three days ago, and so far, things are going really well. If anyone is interested in their contact information, feel free to DM me. Hello everyone! I have an exciting opportunity on the table to join another company in a 270 recruitment role. This position would involve managing client relationships, discussing job specifications, delivering suitable candidates, and facilitating successful placements on both sides.
