Business Internships

Seeking Guidance on Summer Business Internships

As a second-year student enrolled in a prestigious business program in Canada, I have been facing significant challenges in securing a summer internship this year. While I recognize that attending a target school offers some networking advantages, I feel that these opportunities only go so far. I would love to hear any insights or advice on how to navigate the recruiting process more effectively. I hope this discussion can also be beneficial for other business students in similar situations! Thank you!

Reviews of Woo.io?

Has anyone used Woo.io? My agency is looking into it as a solution for automatically updating ATS data, but it almost sounds too good to be true. I’d love to hear about any personal experiences with the tool!

State of the market or fickle agencies?

Market Conditions or Unreliable Agencies?

Hi everyone, I recently experienced redundancy from a small niche agency where I was one of only six employees. I’ve been actively searching for a new position in the same sector and have gone through interviews with around 7 or 8 different companies. One of these has even put me through five interviews for the same role.

While I’ve received a couple of formal rejections, many of the other interviews have ended with little to no follow-up. Some of these opportunities came through recruitment-to-recruitment agencies, but, again, I haven’t heard anything back.

Is this a reflection of the current market conditions, or am I just not connecting with the right agencies? I’d appreciate any insights!

LinkedIn Invitation Hell – Anyone Else?

Stuck in LinkedIn Invitation Overload – Is Anyone Else Struggling?

Hello everyone! 👋

I’ve been reflecting on a challenge many of us face. A few years ago, while freelancing in tech recruitment, I discovered that sorting through LinkedIn invitations was taking way more time than it should.

Receiving between 50 and 100 invites each week was overwhelming. I found myself spending more time sifting through profiles than actually finding the right talent. Does this resonate with anyone?

I’m interested to know how others are coping with this barrage of invitations. Are you also finding that you lose a significant amount of time managing them manually?

If you’re curious about what I’m working on to tackle this issue, here’s a link to learn more 👉https://tally.so/r/nGoOAk – no obligation!

I’m in the early stages of brainstorming a potential solution, but I’d love to hear about your experiences first.

Thanks for your input!

Unfair dismissal?

Unjust Dismissal?

I joined this company as a senior leader in February with the aim of establishing a U.S. entity. My background is heavily rooted in the U.S. market.

Over the last 10 months, I successfully onboarded clients and became the second-highest biller in the company. However, the last quarter was particularly challenging for the U.S. renewables market, leading to a significant decrease in billings. I was informed of my dismissal, with the reasoning that the market is unsustainable for the business and that we might not see any results in the next 3-6 months.

I was never placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) nor given any advance notice about this decision. To make matters worse, I received this news via a Teams call, even though we were scheduled to meet in the office the following day. Is this truly a fair dismissal?

Edit:

  • Hired in the UK (London) for a permanent position
  • Working remotely in the U.S. market
  • Came to the UK on a Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa
LinkedIn Recruiter Cost

Cost of LinkedIn Recruiter

Quick Question: Does anyone know the monthly cost of LinkedIn Recruiter in GBP?

Hi everyone! I’ve been in recruitment for four years, working my way up from a trainee to management, and I’ve always been actively billing. I’m now taking the leap to start my own agency and exploring various tools and systems to set up my operations. My current tech stack includes:

  • Loxo
  • Dripify
  • SalesQL
  • G-Suite

I’m really interested in getting LinkedIn Recruiter, but I’m having a hard time finding the pricing information. Ideally, I’m looking for a single-seat subscription paid monthly in GBP. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Recruitment government contracts

Subject: Seeking Advice on Government Recruitment Contracts

Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right community for my question! I’ve gained some experience in recruitment and am exploring low-value government contracts. Do you think it would be beneficial to partner with another agency to increase my chances of securing more contracts, or should I pursue this on my own?

I appreciate any insights you can share!

Should I take a freelance job I don’t like before landing a full-time position?

Should I accept a freelance job I’m not passionate about while I wait for a full-time position?

I’m currently a homemaker planning to re-enter the workforce. I’ve had several interviews and received positive feedback from a major company, but their offer has been delayed due to a visa issue. Recently, I was offered a remote freelance recruitment role at a small startup, with the potential for a permanent position in a few months. However, I’m feeling hesitant because the job includes sales responsibilities, and I don’t see myself wanting to stay with that company long-term. Should I take the freelance opportunity while I prepare for the big firm, which might take some time, or should I decline it?
