Has anyone here applied and interviewed at Manulife?

Has anyone here recently applied or interviewed at Manulife? I’m considering reapplying since it’s been six months since my last attempt, and I’m hoping for a better experience this time. I had a bit of a strange experience with their recruitment process before, but I know they offer great benefits. Fingers crossed that things have improved!

Salary Market Research for Tech Recruiting

Exploring Salary Market Research for Tech Recruiting

As a new Tech Recruiter, I’ve been tasked with conducting extensive market research on salaries without directly reaching out to candidates. With the rising costs of LinkedIn licenses, this approach is often more efficient in terms of both speed and resources.

To navigate this challenge, I’ve turned to platforms like Glassdoor and Jobicy to gauge salary ranges for various roles. However, I’ve found that much of the data is either poorly validated or difficult to interpret.

Given this context, I’m looking for effective strategies to conduct reliable salary market research.

Are there specific tools, software, or resources that could help streamline this process?

Thank you!

LinkedIn Talent Solutions advice

Advice from LinkedIn Talent Solutions
I’ve been in discussions with LinkedIn regarding the transition to their Job Slots and Recruiter features instead of continuing with individual job posts.

I have two options on the table: one is 3 job slots along with the Recruiter feature for around £3200, and the other is 5 job slots without the Recruiter feature for £1900, both for a duration of 6 months.

Since most of our hiring focuses on junior roles, I’m uncertain about the effectiveness of the Recruiter feature for our needs. I would appreciate any suggestions or insights from those who have experience with these features.

Got added as a recruiter for studies at my job and I’m actually kind of excited for it.

I was recently given the opportunity to take on a recruitment role for studies at my job, and I’m genuinely excited about it! I’m not sure if this is the best place to share, but I’ve been working in data entry at a clinical research facility for over three years. With our team being short-staffed, my boss approached me to help recruit patients for studies, and I gladly agreed.

One of my responsibilities has been answering front desk calls, which has made me quite comfortable speaking with people on the phone and managing various tasks.

To be honest, I’ve been feeling a bit burned out at work lately. I’ve expressed my frustrations about corporate culture to my boss and felt stuck in my role. However, as I think about this new opportunity, I’m starting to feel a sense of excitement. It actually sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

I had a brief training session on Friday, and I’ll officially begin recruitment on Monday. I’m really looking forward to it! As someone with years of experience, I know that things don’t always go as planned, but I’m embracing this change. It feels like I’ve stepped into a new role without needing to switch jobs entirely.

I also believe the skills I’ll gain from this experience will be beneficial in other industries too.

Talk to a recruiter before or after applying?

Should You Connect with a Recruiter Before or After Applying?

Hello everyone!

I’m currently a junior in college and in the process of applying for internships. I’m curious if it’s more advantageous to reach out to a recruiter before I submit my application or after it’s in.

Additionally, I’d love to set up a 15-minute coffee chat with a recruiter. What’s the best way to go about this? What insightful questions should I consider asking? I’d also love to hear about your favorite questions to ask during such conversations.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Considering a Career Change

I’m currently working in car sales but I’m interested in exploring a career in recruitment since there are numerous opportunities available in my area.

Could anyone share what a typical day looks like for a recruitment consultant? Also, how does the pay and commission structure work in this field?

I’m based in the UK, so any insights specific to this region would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Seeking Insights on ADB IS5 Recruitment Process Timeline

Seeking Insights on ADB IS5 Recruitment Process Timeline

Hello, Reddit Community!

I hope you’re all doing well. I recently had the chance to interview for a position at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and have reached the stage where they’ve asked me for additional documents and references for an IS role. As I am planning to move to a different country soon, I’m looking for some guidance on what the potential timeline looks like for the rest of the recruitment process.

Here’s a brief overview of my current status:

  1. The position was advertised, and applications were due in June.
  2. I was shortlisted in September and completed two interviews.
  3. About a week ago, ADB requested additional documents and notified me that they might be contacting my referees. I submitted the requested documents the following day.

I would really appreciate any insights from those who have experience with the ADB recruitment process regarding how long it might take from here. I know timelines can vary, but a rough estimate would be extremely helpful for my planning.

If anyone has advice, tips, or personal experiences related to ADB or similar multilateral development banks, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance for your input!

Tips for Negotiating Salary at ADB? They Seem to Start Low And Salaries Go Up Very Slowly

Navigating Salary Negotiations at ADB: Strategies Needed

Hello Reddit Community!

I hope you’re all doing well. I recently interviewed for a position at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and I’m excited about the potential opportunity. However, I’ve heard that ADB’s initial salary offers tend to be on the lower end and that pay increases happen quite slowly.

I’m reaching out for advice and insights from anyone who has experience negotiating salaries with ADB or similar international organizations. Here’s a bit about my situation:

I’m in the final stages of the interview process. While I’m enthusiastic about the role, I want to ensure that the compensation reflects my skills and expectations. If you have negotiated with ADB or have tips for approaching this process, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Here are some specific questions I have:

  • What is the usual procedure for negotiating salary with ADB?
  • Are there effective strategies for discussing compensation with them?
  • What factors should I keep in mind when deciding on my desired salary?

I recognize that ADB offers various non-monetary benefits, but I want to make sure that the salary component is equitable as well.

Your insights and experiences would mean a lot to me at this stage, and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Looking forward to your responses!

Democratizing recruitment

Making Recruitment More Accessible

Hello, Reddit Community,

I’ve been on the job hunt for quite some time now, and I’ve noticed that many companies only send generic responses like, “You’re great, but we chose someone else.” Although I’ve attended numerous interviews, the only valuable feedback I’ve received was from Atlassian. How can candidates improve without knowing their weaknesses?

I feel that the recruitment process is largely controlled by companies, leaving job seekers with limited power to advocate for their rights. I’m curious about your thoughts on this. I’ve been considering a startup idea focused on democratizing recruitment because I believe there are too many pain points for both job seekers and employers. What suggestions do you have to help develop this concept further?

Thank you!
