Tech Recs – help my struggling business – what niche markets are moving

Seeking Niche Market Insights to Revive My Struggling Business

The web development sector (particularly with technologies like JavaScript and PHP) has become extremely challenging for various reasons, and I’m eager to pivot toward a more specialized niche.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on emerging niche markets, as my business is currently facing significant struggles and I may have to close my doors within the next year if things don’t improve.

I’m not looking for suggestions on improving processes—our small size makes it tough to compete in such a broad and competitive market. After researching various business strategies, it’s clear that we need to hone in on a specific niche to succeed.

Thank you for your support!

Searching for HSE Specialists

Looking for HSE Specialists
I’m on the hunt for experienced HSE Specialists in the Brampton/Mississauga area, as well as east of Toronto in places like Trenton and Belleville. Unfortunately, my efforts on Indeed and LinkedIn over the past few months haven’t yielded any results.

Does anyone have suggestions for alternative places to find health and safety specialists? Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

I created a website that ranks candidates by resumes

I’ve developed a website that evaluates candidates based on their resumes! You can upload a job listing and drop in up to 100 resumes for analysis, helping you determine which candidates are most relevant for the position.

The tool provides an overall score along with a detailed breakdown across several categories, highlighting the skills each candidate possesses or lacks.

What are your thoughts?

Tools to help me get a job

Seeking Job Search Tools

Hi everyone! I’m a creative developer with a strong background in design and technology, focusing on web and app development using React and React Native.

Lately, the job hunt has felt like quite a challenge. In today’s tech-driven world, I believe leveraging the right tools can make a significant difference in landing opportunities.

Could anyone suggest some software services or strategies that could help me find freelance, contract, or full-time positions?

I’d really appreciate any recommendations, and if you could include pricing information, that would be fantastic. Thank you so much!

How Do You Handle More Than 100 Candidate applications as a recruiter? Any tools to techniques you have used?

How Do You Manage Over 100 Candidate Applications as a Recruiter? Tips and Tools Needed!

I’m currently ramping up our hiring efforts and anticipate interviewing more than 100 candidates in the upcoming weeks. I’m eager to learn how others efficiently and effectively manage such a high volume of interviews.

Here are some challenges I’m grappling with:

  1. Time Management: Conducting this many interviews manually seems daunting. What strategies do you use to manage your time without compromising the quality of each interview?
  2. Consistency: Ensuring fair evaluation for every candidate can be tricky, especially with multiple interviewers. How do you standardize the interview process across different interviewers to maintain fairness?
  3. Candidate Experience: With so many interviews, I’m concerned about the overall candidate experience. What can be done to keep the process smooth and engaging for candidates?
  4. Tracking and Reporting: Organizing and analyzing feedback from numerous interviews can be overwhelming. What tools or methods do you find effective for tracking and reporting results?
  5. Bias Reduction: Achieving an unbiased interview process is essential. How do you ensure objectivity when conducting interviews at scale?

I appreciate any insights or recommendations you can share!

Recruitment Sourcing Resources

Hello, everyone! I’m thrilled to share that I participate in a weekly open meeting for recruiters called The Recruiter Roundtable. It happens every Friday at 12:30 PM EST. You can find more details on LinkedIn at The Recruiter Roundtable or check us out on YouTube at /@palermorhodes.

This month, we’re celebrating SOURCETACULAR, featuring special guest speakers every Friday.

Here’s what’s lined up for September:

  • September 6th: Tricia Tamkin from Moore eSSentials
  • September 13th: Seamless.AI
  • September 20th: Chatterworks
  • September 27th: Nebula.io

You can search for “The Recruiter Roundtable” on LinkedIn or YouTube to find links to past episodes, shorts, and more.

All our sessions are completely free—no hidden fees or paywalls! Our aim is to create a supportive space for recruiters and headhunters, particularly those who work solo or remotely, to share insights and discuss industry challenges.

Everyone in the recruitment field is welcome to join, and participation is entirely optional. Many attendees prefer to keep their cameras off or just listen in. We encourage active participation and are always seeking suggestions for guest speakers and new topics.

Feel free to reach out to me via PM if you have any questions!

P.S. I’m currently banned from r/recruiting but would appreciate it if someone could share this post there. I’ve enjoyed engaging with many recruiters in that community.

Hope to see you at the Roundtable!

P.P.S. We also have a Discord channel.

How do you relocate to another region as a recruiter?

Seeking Relocation Opportunities as a Recruiter

Hello everyone,

I’m currently a recruiter in Japan, working end-to-end for a large international recruitment firm. Lately, I’ve been considering a move to Europe, but the internal transfer options at my company aren’t aligning—Germany requires fluency in German, and the Amsterdam office has left things somewhat open-ended.

I am fluent in Japanese (business level) and have native proficiency in both English and Chinese. I’m reaching out to see if any of your organizations are looking for new talent that aligns with my skill set.

I have a proven track record in recruitment, and to be honest, I’m quite motivated by financial incentives, which drives my ambition.

I’m particularly interested in EMEA recruitment since most of my clients are based there, and I would love the chance to continue working in that region.

If anyone has navigated a similar situation or has successfully relocated to Europe, I would greatly appreciate your insights and advice!

Thank you!
