Affordable or Free Tools for Independent Recruiters: Alternatives to SourceWhale
I’m beginning my journey as an independent recruiter, and budget is a concern. I’m looking for software that can scrape LinkedIn profiles and send campaign emails, much like SourceWhale. However, I need options that are either very budget-friendly or completely free. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Sunday Planning and Recruitment Essentials
Hey everyone,
I often hear recruiters emphasize the importance of mastering the basics for success. As someone in education recruitment, I’m curious to know: what would you consider the essential basics? If you were to create a list, what would it include?
Additionally, I’ve noticed that many recruiters dedicate Sundays to planning. Could someone share their Sunday planning template or outline what they typically do on Sundays to stay ahead in the competitive landscape? Thanks!
Transitioning to Full-Time Roles
I’ve found myself in contracting roles longer than I expected, and I’m ready to make the switch to a full-time position. Should I highlight this desire on my resume when applying for full-time roles?
Looking for effective strategies to scrape leads? I’ve seen several inquiries in this group regarding the best methods, so I wanted to share one approach I’ve found useful:
Begin by creating a list using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, then export that list to PhantomBuster.
Next, utilize Anymailfinder to gather the email addresses, resulting in a comprehensive list of leads.
Finally, consider employing a third-party automation tool to organize all the personal information. You can also leverage AI to craft customized opening lines for each lead, ensuring you have a personalized touch ready for your cold calls or emails. This has truly transformed my outreach efforts!
If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask!

Transitioning from a Digital Health Recruitment Agency to a Consultancy
With 8 years of experience as a Digital Health recruitment consultant, and strong billing performance over the past 5 years — including a year in management — I have been offered a position as a Client Account Manager at a Digital Health Consultancy. I’m curious to hear if anyone has made a similar transition (even outside of digital health) from recruitment to consulting, and what insights you might have on this move. I genuinely enjoy my current role in recruitment, but given my specialization in Digital Health, this opportunity is quite appealing and too significant to overlook.
Seeking Aptitude Testing Websites and Services
Hello everyone,
I’m currently overseeing the recruitment process for a specific role and I’m on the lookout for reliable aptitude tests that assess logic, mechanical reasoning, communication skills, and similar traits.
The platforms I’ve come across have astronomical prices (around $1200 annually). While they do offer a variety of tests, my needs are much more limited—I only require testing for about 8 candidates a couple of times a year.
Does anyone know of services that provide tests on a per candidate or per test basis? I’m more than willing to pay for individual tests, but the subscription model of services like Test Monkey isn’t feasible for our situation.
Thank you for any suggestions!
Are you utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter to search for candidates? It’s that straightforward.
