LinkedIn Chrome Extension Update

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share that I’ve integrated several feature requests into the extension, and it’s now fully operational and available for you to use at no cost.

Next on my agenda is the development of a job match feature. This will analyze your job ad and the LinkedIn profile you’re viewing, providing insights on their compatibility. It will also generate a personalized message tailored to both your ad and the communication style of the profile. I can’t wait to bring this feature to life!

IT Recruitment vs. Tech/SaaS Sales?

IT Recruitment vs. Tech/SaaS Sales: Seeking Insights

I’ve been feeling increasingly disenchanted with my career in IT Recruitment and would like to gather some insights on how it stacks up against a role in SaaS Sales.

What I enjoy most about IT Recruitment is the sales, negotiation, and social intelligence components. I have a solid grasp of the tech landscape from my recruitment experiences.

Has anyone worked in both fields? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how the two roles compare overall. I recognize that the skillsets are quite transferable, and I’m considering making a switch sooner rather than later.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

From a recruiter’s point of view – What is happening?

A Recruiter’s Perspective: What’s Going On?

I’m seeking insights from recruiters regarding the job application process in the UK.

Earlier this month, I applied for a position on LinkedIn that aligns with my qualifications. After reaching out to the hiring manager, we had a productive conversation, and he assured me that I would be a strong candidate for the interview pool.

However, it’s been about 3-4 weeks since my application, and I noticed the job has been reposted. Does this mean I still have a chance? Could it imply I was a contender but ultimately not selected? Do recruiters typically aim to have a certain number of candidates in the interview pool before they begin? Additionally, when is an appropriate time to send a follow-up without being overly persistent?

Contract recruiters, reach out!

Calling all contract recruiters!

I’ve been given the responsibility of establishing the contract market for my company in the US. Our permanent placements are thriving, and we’re actively securing new business with a strong hiring pipeline.

However, I’m new to the world of contract recruitment, and I could use some guidance. If you have any tips, resources, or reading materials that could help me navigate this area, I would greatly appreciate it!

I’m also open to exchanging insights so we can both benefit. Thank you in advance!

Received an offer directly and then recruiter contacted me

Received a Direct Offer After Connecting with a Recruiter

Hi everyone! About a year ago, I had a conversation with a recruiter who wanted to get to know me better. During our chat, I discovered that they were working with a company I’m quite interested in. I inquired about any open positions, but at that time, none were available.

A few months later, I noticed that the company was directly hiring for two roles that caught my eye. I decided to apply for one of them, and I’m excited to share that I recently received an offer!

Today, the recruiter reached out to discuss the company and provide updates. I’m planning to be honest with him, but I wanted to get your thoughts: do you think I made a mistake by applying directly? I was concerned that if I waited for the company to go through the recruiter, I might miss out on the opportunity if another candidate was found during that process. I didn’t think to inform the recruiter when I submitted my application. What do you all think?
