How do you relocate to another region as a recruiter?

Seeking Relocation Opportunities as a Recruiter

Hello everyone,

I’m currently a recruiter in Japan, working end-to-end for a large international recruitment firm. Lately, I’ve been considering a move to Europe, but the internal transfer options at my company aren’t aligning—Germany requires fluency in German, and the Amsterdam office has left things somewhat open-ended.

I am fluent in Japanese (business level) and have native proficiency in both English and Chinese. I’m reaching out to see if any of your organizations are looking for new talent that aligns with my skill set.

I have a proven track record in recruitment, and to be honest, I’m quite motivated by financial incentives, which drives my ambition.

I’m particularly interested in EMEA recruitment since most of my clients are based there, and I would love the chance to continue working in that region.

If anyone has navigated a similar situation or has successfully relocated to Europe, I would greatly appreciate your insights and advice!

Thank you!

Question around follow up etiquette

Follow-up Etiquette Inquiry

I completed an interview loop for a senior UX position at a major tech company last week. I promptly sent a thank you note, which they replied to. Now I’m curious about when I can expect to hear back. Would it be appropriate to follow up with the recruiter after a week, or should I hold off for a little longer?

Thoughts on a 17.5% Commission package?

Subject: Seeking Feedback on a 17.5% Commission Structure

Hello everyone,

As a relatively new startup, we’re excited to finally bring on some consultants now that our finances are in a stable place.

We’re considering offering a competitive commission package of 17.5%—increasing for significantly higher billings—to help attract and retain talent. Given that the average in our industry ranges from 12% to 15%, we wanted to stand out and not just follow the norm.

Are there any other business owners or managers out there who see potential drawbacks to this structure (beyond the possibility of slightly reduced company profits)?

I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or ideas you might have! Thank you!

Very interested to hear how everyone is experiencing the market in the UK – if you believe people selling training courses, we are back to normal. I recruit for in-house tax (manager and above), and am yet to see this (outside of FS clients)

I’m eager to hear about everyone’s experiences in the UK market. If you take the sellers of training courses at their word, it seems we’re back to normal. However, in my role recruiting for in-house tax positions (manager level and above), I haven’t noticed this trend yet—at least not beyond financial services clients. What are your thoughts on the current market situation in the UK?

Tech Agency Recruiters!!!

Attention Tech Agency Recruiters!

I’m looking for insights from London-based tech agency recruiters. How do you go about sourcing new clients beyond your current industry? Is cold calling still effective, or do cold email campaigns yield better results than LinkedIn messaging? I appreciate any advice you can share!

Seeking recommendations for essential tools and software for a one person recruitment firm.

Recommendations Needed for Essential Tools and Software for My One-Person Recruitment Firm

Hello everyone,

I’m starting a one-person recruitment firm and would greatly appreciate your recommendations on essential tools and software, especially budget-friendly options. Here’s what I’m considering:

  1. Candidate Sourcing: I need tools that can help me source candidates from multiple platforms, not just LinkedIn.

  2. Applicant Tracking System (ATS): I’m looking for an affordable ATS with basic features that can store candidate resumes and provide effective search capabilities for future projects. I prefer a personal touch over automated candidate engagement features.

  3. Cold Calling Tools: I need a cost-effective alternative to ZoomInfo that doesn’t require a yearly commitment. Since I do a lot of cold calling, I’m looking for a tool that can help me extract phone numbers and emails easily.

  4. Email Marketing: I am in search of a more economical and effective solution than Mailchimp.

Previously, I’ve utilized LinkedIn Premium (with unlimited InMails), an AI automation tool for LinkedIn InMails, various job boards, ChatGPT, and an internal ATS. My firm primarily operates on LinkedIn, so I plan to use Recruiter Lite and LinkedIn Business. I specialize in tech roles within a candidate-driven market, so the response from job postings has been limited. However, I’ll be utilizing a local job portal for candidate data and plan on posting two job ads monthly.

I would be grateful for any suggestions or insights that align with my needs!

Thank you!

Should I negotiate?

Should I negotiate my job offer?

I just received an offer that’s at the upper limit of the salary range I initially provided during the interview. However, after delving deeper into the role’s responsibilities, I feel I may have undervalued myself by around 10%. Unfortunately, I can’t compare my offer to a salary range since that information wasn’t included in the job posting.

What do you think: is it worth negotiating? If so, how should I go about initiating that conversation or crafting a follow-up email?

Best ATS

Looking for Recommendations on Modern ATS Solutions

Hey everyone,

I could really use some guidance in finding the right Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for our startup. We’re a small team of 8 and are looking for an ATS with a sleek, modern user interface.

Key features I’m interested in include:
– Automations
– Kanban view
– Self-scheduling options
– One-way video interviews
– SMS and ideally WhatsApp integration
– An iOS app

I’ve previously tried Teamtailor and really liked it, but was turned off by the branding on emails, self-scheduling, and candidate communications that all stated “powered by Teamtailor.”

If you have any recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
