UK-Based Healthcare Recruitment Agency Seeking Guidance on New York Market

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for information regarding the legal requirements for establishing a healthcare recruitment agency in the UK while focusing on the New York market. After doing some research, it appears that obtaining a license may be necessary.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Generating New Business

Building New Business Opportunities

Hello everyone!

After my former employer unfortunately closed due to financial mismanagement, I’ve transitioned to freelancing with an old colleague who has generously offered a 50/50 split on my billings, with no base salary.

I’m having a good run and am primarily responsible for the placements, but I’m facing challenges when it comes to securing new clients for myself. Ideally, I’d like to close roles as my own so I can retain 100% of the earnings.

I’m looking for advice on how to effectively generate new business. While I’ve been reaching out to companies within my industry, I’m not receiving much feedback. What strategies have worked for you in generating new leads? Thank you!

Quit before write-up?

Considering Quitting Before a Write-Up?

I’ve been in the auto loan refinance industry for over two years, and I’m facing a difficult situation: I’m likely to receive a performance improvement plan (PIP) notice by the end of this month due to my declining performance. Until recently, I was regarded as a fairly competent salesperson, but with the rapid changes at my company—particularly concerning client management and the criteria for performance evaluations—I now find myself struggling to meet new expectations.

In my experience with job searching, I’ve often encountered questions about whether I’ve been written up in the past few months. Do employers actually verify this information if I were to say I haven’t? Is this practice legal? I’m based in Colorado and have heard conflicting information regarding what HR departments can disclose. From what I understand, they generally can only confirm basic facts like employment dates and whether I was let go or quit, and not much else.

As I assess my options for leaving my current job, I’d like your advice on the best course of action. Should I quit before I sign any write-up documentation? Would it be better to accept the write-up and then provide my two weeks’ notice next month? What steps can I take to minimize any negative impact on my job search? I appreciate any insights or guidance on how to navigate this challenging situation. Thank you!

As a self-employed/agency recruiter: do you first reach out to candidates or to clients? Why?

As a self-employed recruiter working on a commission basis, I’m curious about the best approach for reaching out – should I contact candidates first or clients? Since I come from a corporate recruiting background, client acquisition is a whole new ballgame for me.

I’m finding it challenging to connect with potential clients. Should my initial outreach be to clients or candidates? Is it necessary to have candidates lined up before I start contacting clients? If I do need candidates in place, how can I prevent clients from directly approaching them, which could jeopardize my commission? Should I consider withholding their names? Everything feels quite overwhelming right now.

I’d love to hear about successful strategies you’ve used!

Hey, fellow recruiters from recruitment agencies

Hello, fellow recruiters in recruitment agencies!

I’m curious about how you gather feedback from clients regarding the candidate lists you provide.

Could you please share the most common methods you use?
– Do you simply export CVs and send them to the client for review after screening calls?
– Do you invite clients to your ATS, allowing them to browse and rate candidates directly on the platform?
– Or, do you host a session with your client where they invite a panel to independently rate candidates on a platform, ensuring an unbiased selection for the next stage?

If you use a different approach, I’d love to hear about that too!

Internal recruiters, what are your biggest painpoints atm?

Attention internal recruiters: What are your current pain points?

I’ve noticed a significant rise in AI-generated submissions flooding my ATS, thanks to various new AI tools. This makes it increasingly challenging to sift through the noise and find qualified candidates. It feels like ATS technology is lagging behind—like it’s stuck in the 2010s. I think there’s a lot of room for improvement when it comes to automating follow-ups, rejections, and other processes. What challenges are you all facing?

Should I apply for a job post that is both available on LinkedIn and the company’s direct website?

Should I submit my application for a job that’s listed on both LinkedIn and the company’s website?

I recently applied for a job on LinkedIn, only to realize that the same position is also posted on the company’s official website. I’ve always applied directly through company websites in the past and haven’t had any success with LinkedIn applications. Should I go ahead and apply on the company’s website to ensure my application reaches them directly?

Tech Recs – help my struggling business – what niche markets are moving

Seeking Niche Market Insights to Revive My Struggling Business

The web development space (JavaScript, PHP, etc.) has become increasingly challenging for obvious reasons, and I’m eager to explore more niche markets.

I’m reaching out for support or advice as my business is currently facing tough times, and without a significant shift, I risk going under within the next year.

Please note, I’m not looking for suggestions on process improvements—our team is small, making it challenging to compete in such a vast and competitive market. After researching various business strategies, it’s clear that we need to carve out a more defined niche.

I appreciate any insights or recommendations you can provide. Thank you!
